Our Journey
The inception of the Michigan Cosmetology Instructors Association (MCIA) was born out of the dynamic landscape of the cosmetology industry. As the State Board test evolves and proposed changes to the Laws and Rules governing cosmetology loom, a dedicated group of us banded together to brainstorm strategies to navigate these shifts effectively. Through collaborative efforts, we have exchanged countless ideas that have been successfully implemented in our classrooms, enriching our teaching practices and enhancing our skills.
Moving forward, our aim is to expand our reach and welcome more instructors into the Association, fostering a community of growth and development for educators in the cosmetology field. The founders of MCIA bring a wealth of experience, collectively boasting over 100 years of expertise both behind the chair and in the classroom. With this wealth of knowledge, we are committed to continuous learning and advancement as educators, with the unwavering support of the entire cosmetology community in Michigan.
